Marfa, Texas is a unique and wonderful place. Very few locations offer our towns combination of wide open country, clean air and water, friendly residents and small town life with cosmopolitan connections. Marfa is known globally as a center for world class art. Marfa hosts writers and installations from Chinati, Lannan and Judd Foundations. Numerous artists exhibit their work in spaces located through out the city.  

Marfa draws on its rich past and is building with pride and energy. We look to the future through the eyes of our local businesses, art/theater community, ranchers and our visitors.

Marfa's climate is the best in Texas. Our high elevation keeps our Summer temperatures mild. Our southern location keeps our Winters mild and sunny.  Marfa's climate provides recreation opportunities year round. The highest golf course in Texas, a growing soaring community, the mysterious Marfa Lights, and access to fantastic National, State and local parks are all major attractions for many people around the nation. 

For many of our visitors and residents, just the skies, brilliant stars and breathtaking sunrises and sunsets are enough.
